Omnicell is growing in the New Year in our Warrendale, PA production facility. We are adding a new position as a Production Planner, NPI. Reporting to the Manager, Production Planning & Inventory, the Production Planner, NPI, will be dedicated to support Manufacturing Engineering, working collaboratively and cross functionally with NPI Project Management, Manufacturing, Warehouse, Procurement, Quality, and Data Management teams. The Production Planner, NPI, will drive all material planning requirements in the Product development process from pre-production requirements through to Product Release forecast. The incumbent will review Engineering Change Orders(ECO) for new parts, Bill of Materials (BOMS/BOM) changes, will schedule all pre-production/production builds, and will incorporate/maintain accuracy of Item planning master data, MRP Demand, and open production orders.


  • Update SAP MRP planning data and incorporate changes to all open builds as required per ECO dispositions.

  • Prepare deliverables for Product Development Process (PDP) checkpoints, and transition manual pre-production planning into the ERP system as soon as ERP Item Master data and BOMS are available.

  • Load forecast/demand for all Pre-Production and initial Product Launch quantities. For critical and long lead parts, analyze and set appropriate stocking levels.

  • Schedule all NPI builds per the Project Schedule. Maintain accuracy of Order BOMS incorporating ECO changes and report the status of builds.

  • Publish daily shortage reports and priority lists for procurement, and incoming quality inspection.

  • For all Marketing and Engineering requirements, ensure requestors generate internal order requisitions for Internal Sales Order creation.

  • Schedule and release Production orders in sequence per the NPI Project Plan.

  • Expedite with procurement team any shortages affecting the Production Schedule. Work with procurement, production, engineering and quality to mitigate issues.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of Supply Chain and MRP Demand Planning.

  • Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, preferably SAP MM/PP/SD.

  • Advanced spreadsheet / Excel skills; Ability to generate complex dashboards, tools, and reports.

  • Excellently demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong customer service orientation.

  • Ability to work with interruptions; multitasking, and meeting deadlines

  • Strong knowledge of Excel, Access, Tableau

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Five (5) years’ experience in material planning in a controlled Manufacturing environment with a structured PDP process.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Business Administration, Supply Chain Management

  • APICS or CPM Certification

  • SAP Proficiency (MM/PP/SD)

  • Strong Analytical Skills (i.e.: Excel, Access, Tableau)

  • Experience in an ISO 13845 or FDA Registered environment
