PakPlus-Rx Pharmacy Technician

The PakPlus-Rx Packaging Technician will report to the PakPlus Rx Operations Supervisor and is responsible for packaging all unit-dose medications required for daily dispensing. The PakPlus-Rx Packaging technician will prepare and maintain the packager equipment for everyday use, perform general equipment troubleshooting, maintain optimal medication inventory levels, review / maintain reports and identify any customer concerns to the Operations Supervisor of the PakPlus-Rx Program.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform qualitative medication packaging in an error-free manner consistent with prescribed guidelines.

  • Follow “Safe Handling and Packaging Hazardous Drugs” procedures when packaging hazardous medications.

  • Responsible for identifying/ordering medications required to be packaged to ensure medication inventories are at optimal levels.

  • Perform automated ROBOT-Rx optimization and maintenance, if applicable.

  • Monitor and maintain formulary inventory levels to ensure availability of medication for daily dispensing.

  • Responsible for monitoring and ordering consumable supplies required for the operation of the equipment.

  • Responsible for prescribed maintenance of packaging equipment and reporting unresolved equipment issues to the support – Help Desk.

  • Maintain a high level of communication to ensure proactive, solution-oriented problem identification and resolution.

  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by aligning the PakPlus-Rx program to provide customer-focused support emphasizing quality, professionalism, and responsiveness.

  • Conduct per diem employee orientation and training, and ensure completion of all required documents and compliance with all PakPlus-Rx procedures and policies.

  • Promote and optimize customer product ownership and satisfaction by serving as a skilled resource.

  • Maintain fiscal responsibility for work-related expenses associated with timekeeping, per diem employees and consumable supplies.

  • Comply with reasonable procedures, policies, and guidelines established by the Customer facility.

  • Maintain state and/or national credentialing to meet established guidelines.

Required Knowledge & Skills:

  • Excellent organizational skills, accurate, reliable and efficient.

  • Demonstrated customer-facing skills.

  • Robust interpersonal, communications and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work with mechanical equipment.

  • Possess a working knowledge of computer hardware, PC Windows.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Registration pharmacy technician for the state ofNew York.

  • Previous experience in hospital pharmacy or healthcare industry.

  • At least one year experience working as a Pharmacy Technician

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two plus years of experience working in related field preferred.

  • Proficient in the use of PPE and hand hygiene techniques.

  • Possess a working knowledge of sterile environment requirements.

  • Pharmacy automation knowledge.

  • PTCB certification

Working Conditions:

  • Pharmacy environment.

  • Capable of standing for several hours at a time.

  • Will have a potential exposure to hazardous drugs.

  • Able to lift 25–30 lbs.

    Other:

  • Selected candidates may be required to pass a math aptitude test.
