Senior Card Press Operator - 3rd shiftOmnicell has an exciting opportunity open for a Senior Card Press Operator on our 3rd shift in our St. Petersburg facility. The work schedule is Sunday thru Thursday from 10 pm to 6 am.

This position sets up and runs a flexographic printing press that produces compliance cards. Along with the rest of the production team, they ensure that job orders are completed to all customer requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Run and troubleshoot Card Presses.

  • Responsible for the set-up, operation, clean up, and the quality of the product produced.

  • Printing of multiple color products.

  • Operating continuous web converting equipment.

  • Check the printed copy against the approved sample proof for the job.

  • Inspecting final product to ensure established quality standards are met.

  • Support corporate programs such as 5S, ISO, SMED, Preventive Maintenance, and GMP.

  • Follow all Safety guidelines for manufacturing work area.

  • Train other employees as needed per management requests.

Required Knowledge & Skills:

  • Knowledge in the selection of necessary components to run a job. (print cylinders, plates, dies)

  • Familiarity with unwind and rewind turrets.

  • Understanding of information and requirements on job ticket for the setup and running of the job.

  • Skilled in mixing inks and general knowledge of color theory

  • Understanding of management/handling of anilox, print cylinders, dies, and knock-outs.

  • Skill in die cutting and die registration.

  • Knowledge in Quick Change Overs

  • Excellent work ethic and leadership skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with peers and team members.

  • Ability to effectively interface and communicate with multiple constituents, including management, and coworkers.

  • Ability to work under limited supervision and guidance as well as multi-task, organize, and prioritize job responsibilities.

  • Retentive to processes and procedures and the ability to accept feedback and guidance from supervisor/leadership teams.

  • Capable of working with limited supervision.

  • Must speak clearly, good listening skills, and understand basic verbal instructions in English.

  • Ability to write and read work instructions with accuracy in English.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/ or equivalent GED

  • Minimum of 5+ years working experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience with flexographic printing equipment

  • Experience handling UV and water-based inks

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5+ years of working experience on multi-colored mechanical/servo color UV continuous web flexographic printing equipment.

  • Experience registering plates on press.

  • Experience with the laminating and gluing of substrates to heavy coated and uncoated board.

Work Conditions:

  • Manufacturing Environment

  • Must be able to work 3rd shift - Sunday thru Thursday from 10 pm to 6 am.

  • Stand, sit, walk, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch.

  • Able to lift 60 pounds.

  • Able to lift 25 pounds – 35 pounds repetitively.

  • Move rolls of Plastic/Board/Foil/Liner/Label Stock – 400 pounds – 1000 pounds (rolling material on their diameter).

  • Move skids weighing up to 2,500 pounds with the use of mechanical and or powered rolling stock. (pallet jacks).

  • Adheres to and promotes all safety policies and procedures including, but not limited to the proper handling of hazardous waste, lock out – tag out rules and hearing and eye protection policies.
