Omnicell is looking for an experienced Software Quality Engineer (SQE) for our Engineering organization with proven manual and automation testing skills. An ideal candidate will have distributed system testing experience, strong analytical abilities, team work and communication skills, and ability to maintain and extend test automation.

Essential Functions:

  • Demonstrate industry leading technical and lead abilities to significantly improve product quality.

  • Thorough knowledge of API layer and a distinct and proven ability to uncover defects at component and feature integration layer.

  • In-depth knowledge on architecting automation testing framework to support API-level testing, WEB UI testing and performance testing.

  • Define test strategy, test suites, test cases. Define test tools for functional, performance and scale testing in a programmatic manner.

  • Engage with development leads and technical stakeholders to gain consensus in a cross functional team setting.

  • Automate testing and certify software modules with a high-quality standard.

  • Create performance, scale and security test plans and test scripts.

  • Generate test data sets for functional automation, performance, scale and security testing.

  • Participate in Agile scrum team, perform peer reviews, and mentor team members.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent working knowledge and expertise on programming using C#/.NET (preferred) or JAVA, SQL Server AND front-end technologies.

  • Increase functional test coverage (API) and enhance test frameworks.

  • Knowledge of testing architectures including microservices and RESTful APIs.

  • Understanding of web client applications built on the Microsoft Windows platform.

  • Excellent working knowledge of testing methodologies and strategies, including: black box, grey box, and white box testing; feature, functional, continuous integration, and regression testing.

  • Ability to define/design/develop/maintain test automation frameworks and test cases.

  • Thorough understanding of application lifecycle management tools such as Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS and MTM) and GIT.

  • Firm understanding and knowledge of databases. (MS SQL Server Preferred).

  • Passionate about software quality and test architecture. Must be able to review specifications and design thorough test coverage.

  • Firm understanding of the software development lifecycle and Agile/Scrum based testing including peer review, test automation, continuous integration.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision while remaining on-task and deadline oriented.

  • Proven skills in data analysis, data/design verification, and problem-solving.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Work with SQE community to set company-wide SQE standards and practices.

  • Train and mentor manual and junior SQE members on automation testing.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Technology

  • 6+ years of experience in full-stack software engineering testing

  • Experience in test automation

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Technology

  • Experience in the Healthcare industry
