Omnicell, Inc. Supervisor, Quality Engineering in Milpitas, California

Incoming Quality Supervisor/Engineer

Reporting to the Senior Manager Production Quality and located at the Omnicell Milpitas facility located in Milpitas, CA, the Quality Supervisor/Engineer will oversee incoming parts release through final product release including, inspection planning coordination and control of processes and resources. Additionally, this individual will oversee the material review board, and ensure performance to Omnicell quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide supervision and assign daily tasks to employees in their respective areas

  • Provide guidance for incoming inspection criteria

  • Manages and reports first article inspection performance

  • Manages dock to stock process

  • Manage non-conforming material processes

  • Create and maintain incoming inspection levels, sampling plans, and inspection programs for automated measuring

  • Conduct root cause analysis through facilitating brainstorming, use of fishbone diagrams, 8D methodologies, CAPA and design of experiments, etc.

  • Work with production personnel to document and communicate changes to parts and assemblies within the change control process

  • Develop and present operational and quality metrics related to incoming inspection

  • Evaluation and recommendation for appropriate measurement equipment

  • Manages and maintains calibration process

  • Establish and maintain Quality Management System

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Define inspection techniques to be utilized by department personnel

  • Support the Quality Department objectives and goals by managing or participating in Quality projects

  • Manage and/or participate in CAPAs as required

  • Support Supplier Corrective Action closure via verification activities

  • Act as a liaison between Quality and other Omnicell functional departments

Required Skills and Knowledge:

  • Ability to effectively interface and communicate with multiple constituents, including senior management, consultants, suppliers, and employees of all levels

  • Understanding of AQL levels contained in ANSI standards

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree

  • Minimum three (3) years experience in quality production environment including incoming inspection

  • Experience working with complex electro-mechanical systems

  • Metrology experience

  • Specific training and demonstrated success in applying quality problem solving methods such as fishbone diagrams, FMEA, process capability analysis, 8D methodologies, CAPA, DoE, SPC, etc.

  • Experience with broad variety of measurement and quality data analytic techniques

  • ISO 13485 and/or FDA (CFR 820) Medical Device experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SAP experience

  • Minitab experience

Base compensation salary range: $95,018 - $121,411
