Omnicell is growing in the New Year! We are currently seeking a Director, Global Product Data Management who will be responsible for defining strategies as well as implementing processes and systems to manage supply chain information flows which enable Omnicell’s products to be effectively and efficiently ordered manufactured, and delivered to customers. The incumbent will partner cross-functionally with internal business leaders to build product data management capabilities which leverage technology to meet business objectives.

This is a unique hybrid role having knowledge of data infrastructure in order to design efficient product information flow andresponsibility for concept to retirement of Omnicell’s products including design, definition and validation, product configuration and structure, field service information, change control, user knowledge and training, and support for new information system implementations.


  • Manage a scope of several work streams of product data management, including the development and improvement of processes and systems which allow for growth and scale. These work streams will include, yet not be limited, to the following areas:

  • Commercial Product and Process Document Change Control:This will be managed through a global process, working toward a single harmonized information system that is implemented locally at each site.

  • New Product Introduction (NPI) Product Data: Provide NPI project management for facilitating the new product’s data configuration and structure to allow the product to be released into production under a structure that is efficiently manufactured and to be effectively tracked from quote to revenue recognition.

  • Information System User Knowledge and Training: Responsible to provide functional expertise for the Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Quality information systems used within Omnicell factories including, yet not limited to, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Enterprise System software.

  • Future Information System Implementation: Partner with Omnicell’s Information Technology organization in improving and upgrading the software platforms on which product data is managed.

  • Create standardization and scalability by:​

  • Developing a culture around quality product data management from concept to end of life

  • Developing consistent processes and roadmaps to get to single source of truth in order to enable efficiency, scalability, and product excellence.

  • Define product lifecycle data requirements from new product definition or enhancements to existing products; planning, design, costing, forecasting, production and sales.

  • Establish standards for documentation creation, structure, workflows, and new information system implementations.

  • Drive Continuous Improvement by defining Key Performance Indicator measures to ensure data quality and creating methodology to measure and monitor these measures.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Demonstrated expert ability to drive change via collaboration across organizational levels, global geography and business entities.

  • Creative problem-solving skills, analytical thinker, and focus on creating effective processes.

  • Intimate understanding of current industry practices of product data management with in-depth knowledge of the set-up and management of information flows that affect business outcomes.

  • Ability to work well in a matrix organization.

  • Professional communication and partnering behaviors that enable strong internal customer relationships and business results.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • 10 + years’ experience in Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or Quality at a senior management level in either a line or support function.

  • Quality System experience, specifically with Change Control and Design Control.

  • Experience with SAP PLM/ERP/MRP

  • Proven track record developing and managing a team that works across an organization.

  • Leadership experience in Project Management

  • In depth experience with implementation of New Information Systems

  • Experience withNew Product Introduction

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain/Manufacturing, Engineering, or Computer Science.

  • Master’s degree/MBA.

  • New Information Systems implementation leader or functional lead.

Work Conditions:

  • Milpitas, California manufacturing facility.

  • 25% domestic and international travel.

  • Extended or irregular work hours, as needed.
