International Payroll Manager



The International Payroll Manager provides systems, process, and accounting expertise in doing the day-to-day activities of the payroll function. This role assists with the development and evolution of the function as more effective and integral parts of the organization. This position is responsible for overseeing the monthly payroll for all EMEA & APAC countries.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsibility to ensure international payroll is paid timely and accurately

  • Responsible for the timely processing of off-cycle payrolls

  • Manage the Payroll Service Provider relationships

  • Maintain a strong control environment

  • Analyze current procedures and practices to look for efficiency, effectiveness, and opportunities to streamline processes

  • Establish International payroll framework and related documentation

  • Manage the year end process for all countries.

  • Partner with the Accounting team to ensure monthly journals are submitted and resolve queries.

  • Responsible for the accuracy of payroll data to ensure correct payroll processing

  • Responsible for testing required in both the time and payroll systems for any new configuration, updates, and/or process changes

  • Complete other projects as assigned

  • Evaluates and makes recommendations to management on enhancements to procedures and handles all complex aspects of processing payroll

  • Coordinates third party payroll system implementations and upgrades

  • Researches and responds to inquiries from all levels of the organization and exercises judgment and initiative in resolving issues.

  • Provides timely and accurate reporting of compensation related activities in meeting internal and external reporting deadlines.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Industry experience in a similar role, managing a Payroll function, preferably with an US parent company.

  • Experience managing multiple country payroll

  • Experience with Office Suite

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills

  • Experience of managing 3rd party payroll providers

  • Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of personnel and external contacts

  • A proactive, high energy attitude geared towards achieving continuous improvement

  • Flexibility: Ability to operate in a fast paced, rapidly evolving, and data driven organization

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to understand the impact of payroll transactions on the financial statements

  • Prior experience and knowledge of of SAP and ADP

  • Fluent in French, German and/or Italian preferred
