Omnicell, Inc. Program Manager, Engineering Operations - Remote in Houston, Texas

The Program Manager leads cross-functional teams to manage complex Change Management programs, overseeing Concept through Launch phases, including new initiatives that have no pre-existing playbook.

Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Agile Practices, the Program Manager will have individual development efforts under their leadership and will work across all company functions to ensure successful delivery to market.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages the planning and execution of one or more project portfolio through execution/launch.

  • Leads and coordinates the efforts of a program core team and holds functions accountable to plan; executes on deliverables across product, engineering, quality, manufacturing, marketing, finance, support, etc.

  • Manages functional interdependencies; identifies risks, defines implications of changes to plans on timelines/scope based on program/product development progress and business strategy.

  • Drives teams to meet commitments to achieve success, holding self and team accountable for results

  • Evaluates internal business and technical processes and recommends changes to drive continuous improvements

  • Manages priorities to balance customer value, quality, timeliness, risk and budget.

  • Demonstrates effective tailoring of processes within constraints to minimize effort/maximize value.

  • Effectively drives change management; assesses change, communicates impact, leads re-planning activities, and applies a structured methodology to approve and document changes

  • Demonstrates skill, maturity and diplomacy to identify and interact with stakeholders, assess their needs, provide metrics/status reports as needed, and manage stakeholder’s expectations throughout the lifetime of the program.

  • Communicates by practicing active listening, maintaining a positive attitude, keeping an open mind, and taking responsibility for communication success.

  • Communicates effectively to all levels of the organization, entry through leadership.

  • Contributes to team efforts to establish and continuously improve best practices

Required Knowledge & Skills:

  • Self-starting individual that needs minimum supervision

  • Demonstrated experience driving programs/products to successful completion

  • Strong customer focus – Manages teams to create/optimize value for customers during decision-making, planning, execution, and change management

  • Strategic thinking – Uses knowledge of company business and product strategies to guide recommendations and decision-making

  • Understands how to create effective presentations/visuals/outputs, showing the right level of detail to different stakeholder audiences

  • Ability to establish, maintain and improve relationships with team members across multiple office locations

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of experience in Program/Project Management, or 7+ years experience (if no Bachelor’s Degree)

  • New product introduction (NPI) experience

  • Experience/understanding of various Agile practices/frameworks

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP preferred

  • Understands principles of product & portfolio management

  • Experience with/in:

  • Working with/within a regulated quality management system (DOD,FDA,ISO) for product development

  • Process for procurement of goods/services including: contracts, SOW, RFP’s.

  • SaaS

  • Cloud computing, data analytics, machine learning, artificial intelligence

  • Organizational change management

Work conditions:

  • Home-office based position

  • Up to 10% travel (subject to change)
