Omnicell has a dynamic opportunity for a Technical Sales Engineer. This sales support role involves working closely with Sales Development, Field Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Technical Product Management and Clinical Pharmacy Consultants. The Technical Sales Engineer manages pre-sale activities related to the technical environment of Omnicell product(s). This position is fully responsible for communication, development and maintenance of technical sales collateral and tools. In addition, this position provides long term strategic IT planning support to Omnicell’s key customer base. Performance is measured through annual and quarterly business aligned objectives.

Pre-Sale Technical Support (Communication Planning, Evaluation of Customer’s IT Environment and Technical Consultation)

  • Evaluate technical services and Omnicell product components necessary for prospective clients/customers.

  • Create and deliver both internal and external presentations on technical environment needs for Omnicell products.

  • Consults with Customer to review IT workflow changes required for Omnicell products.

  • Provide support to the sales team for technical service strategies and questions.

  • Create IT workflow changes required for Omnicell products.

  • Develop quoting samples that support sales in entering infrastructure components of quotes.

  • Provide technical responses to customer questionnaires.

  • Provide internal teams with non-PHI customer data used for configuration comparisons and clinical consulting.

  • Achieve high levels of client satisfaction through personal and team performance.

  • Work proactively with sales and to identify, communicate, escalate, and resolve critical prospect/customer issues in a preemptive and timely manner.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proficient at executing multiple concurrent/competing priorities.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication.

  • Ability to collaborate productively with colleagues at all levels of the organization.

  • Customer service driven; responsive to both internal and external customer issues and concerns.

  • PC skills with advanced Word and Excel capabilities.

  • Demonstrates a detailed understanding of product integration, conversions and interfaces.

  • Familiarity with PC and Omnicell software.

  • Knowledge of Windows OS.

  • Basic understanding of Networking, Workgroups and Domains

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree required

  • Minimum 5 years business experience, 3 of which in a technical environment preferred.

  • Specific knowledge of the healthcare industry and Omnicell offerings desired.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s or advanced degree

  • Technical Sales experience

Work Conditions:

  • Environment – Office environment – Cranberry Township, Pa. (Preferred)

  • Travel required – Yes, 30% Plus
